If I encounter one more novel in which the female protagonist finds it a sexy turn-on that her supernatural boyfriend ignores her all day then creeps into her bedroom at night to watch her sleep I may break something. (Possibly Anthony McGowan. We can but dream.) Then again, I'm as guilty of pre-judging those books without reading them as he is with pink ones - and doubtless the insides are every bit as varied and unexpected. The fact that we're now getting a slew of black/red covers is just more evidence of retailers being lazy and narrow-minded - and publishers assume they have no option but to give in to the 'it looks a bit like this other one, so buy it!' mentality.
